Title:
It's just a game.
AUTHOR:ToAstA[COD]"Hi Shirley, how are you?"
"Hey Jane, I'm fine, and how are you?"
"Great, but I need to ask you a serious favor."
"Go ahead, what do you need?"
"Well me and Eric are going out for the night, and won't be back until
tomorrow night. Our baby sitter is sick, and we can't find anyone
willing to baby sit three kids. Could you please watch them until
tomorrow night?"
"Oh, I sure can. That's no biggie at all Jane."
"Thank you so much! My brother Carl is over right now so I have to go,
but could you be here at 7:30?"
"I'll be there Jane."
"Ok, thanks again, bye!"
"Good bye."
"Hi uncle Carl!"
"Hey everyone, how is everybody?"
"Just great, listen Carl tonight I have a friend baby sitting the kids,
so if you stop by for anything we won't be here. But you should meet
her, she is a very good friend of mine."
"Well I was going to stop by tonight, oh and by the way, happy
anniversary!"
"Awww, thanks."
"Uncle, are you staying tonight?" asked John, the middle child of the
three.
"Probably not John, but I'll stop in later tonight to say hi. How's that
sound?"
"That's cool."
"Is that cool with you two?" he asked the two girls.
"Of course uncle. What time are you coming by?" asked Jessica, the
oldest of the three.
"Probably when Mary is in bed already. Not sure, maybe 9 or so."
"Oh, ok. Shirley's coming around seven I think."
"So that's her name?"
"Yeah, Shirley Manson. She's in a band," John added.
Carl was dumbfounded. "Wow. Shirley Manson is a good friend of my
sister's? I should have come over more often," he thought to himself.
"I think I've heard of her before," he lied just a bit.
"She's really nice."
"Can't wait to meet her. I'll be right back guys. I need to make a quick
phone call."
Carl walked to his van, and looked around for his jacket. He reached
into the inner pocket and pulled his cell phone out. He hit the speed
dial for one of his friends, who just happened to be a white slaver.
"Hello?"
"Hey Chuck, you're not going to believe this..."
Jane looked at the clock. 5:30. She was fixing her hair, waiting for
her husband to get home from the
store.
"By the time he gets back and all ready to go Shirley should be here,"
she thought to herself. "Then off we go for a one day vacation." It was
the first opportunity to have time alone they had been given for a long
time. Too long, it seemed to her. They had a dinner planned, then a
romantic night at the hotel. It was indeed a perfect night.
"So Carl, how do you plan on getting the kids to get Shirley ready for
the back of the van?"
"I'm not quite sure yet. I'll have to pay off Jessica; she's the oldest.
Might suspect something. The other two don't know any better."
"Well after you get them to agree, call me back. I'll be waiting. We'll
be making a fortune with this sale. Just don't screw it up."
Carl's face cringed a bit at the thought of his last close call. "Ok,
well I'll call you back in a little while," he answered as he turned his
phone off.
Carl went back inside. His two nieces and his nephew were watching TV
His sister was still in the bathroom getting ready. He saw this as his
only chance to try and get them to go along with his plan of abduction.
"Hey guys, I have to go in a few minutes."
"Ok," replied Jessica.
"Have you guys ever played a prank on you're baby sitter before?" Carl
asked.
"No, not really," Jessica said, half listening and half watching TV.
"No? Well I've got a real funny one you should play on Shirley tonight."
"What kind of prank?"
"You should get her to play cops and robbers with you guys."
"How do you play that?" asked Mary.
"Well you three would be the cops, and Shirley would be the robber. When
you catch her you have to arrest her, and tie her up so she can't get
away," Carl said.
"That's mean. I don't think we should do that to Shirley," Jessica
quickly retorted.
"Jessica, come here for a second." Carl had his oldest niece come with
him to the kitchen.
"Would you help them play this little game if I gave you 300 bucks?"
"Three hundred??!"
"You heard me right. I'll give it to you right now if agree to play
this uh game. But you can't tell your parents about it, and neither
can your brother or sister. Got it?"
"Got it."
"Thanks Jess."
Jessica shoved the money in her pocket and went back in the living
room.
"Hey John, let's go get some stuff ready for cops and robbers tonight."
"We're gonna play it?!"
"Yeah, come on!"
They ran past their uncle as he was knocking on the bathroom door.
"Hey Jane, I gotta run, ok?"
"Ok Carl, make sure to say hi to Shirley tonight. I'll see you soon."
"I'll be coming around nine or so. See you later."
"Bye."
